About Long Sault Conservation Area

Long Sault Conservation Area covers about 400 hectares at 9293 Woodley Road in Bowmanville. Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority calls it the largest property it owns and manages. The land includes mature forest, plantation, wetland and meadow, with headwater tributaries of the Bowmanville/Soper Creek watershed.

More than 18 kilometres of marked trails cross the property, including a link to the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail. Trails are not maintained in winter. Day parking is $7 per vehicle through Honk Mobile. Pets are allowed on leash, and washrooms are listed. A current notice keeps the west-side Wild Turkey, Eastern Bluebird and Barred Owl trails closed; the Porcupine Trail is open but uneven. CLOCA has also reported confirmed black bear sightings and asks visitors to follow Bear Wise guidance.
